When God commanded the Israelites to rest from their working of the land, they were to see how God is the one who truly provides for His people. And as believers in Jesus, we are called to rest in His completed work. We are no longer burdened to work under guilty obligation to earn God’s favor, but we are called to know that we are made righteous by Jesus’s completed work on the cross.
