Our Vision

At Reach Out, our vision has always been to reach the lost, to train them up, and to send them out. We are accomplishing this vision by proclaiming the love, forgiveness, and acceptance of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Our mission at Reach Out is to spread the truth of the Gospel in order to provide the hope, healing, and wholeness that God offers. When believers are encouraged in discovering and following Christ, we believe they are also being strengthened to be individually strong and corporately motivated. And that they will also be able to stand confidently in their relationship with God while choosing to work for His Kingdom.

What We Believe

Our beliefs form the core of our faith, representing our interpretation of essential Christian principles from the Bible. Our values, behaviors, teachings, and lifestyle emanate from these beliefs. As St. Augustine’s said: “In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.”

We believe in God

There is one God who is infinitely perfect[1], existing eternally in three persons: Father[2], Son[3] and Holy Spirit[4].

Is a divine person[17] sent to indwell[18], guide[19], teach[20], empower[21] the believer, and convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment[22].

Was created in the image and likeness of God[26].  He fell into a state of sin and lostness[27].  This is true of all men[28], and except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God[29].  Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone[30].   The retribution of the wicked and the reward of the righteous are everlasting[31].  The reward is conscious, as is the retribution[32].

Sanctification, holiness and the overcoming life are God’s design for the church, which is the Bride of Christ.[38]

Sexual purity is a necessary expression for all of God’s children and requires abstinence from adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality or other sexual relationships or practices forbidden by Scripture.[39]

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime and a sacred institution established by God.[40]

The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ[46], and are redeemed through His blood[47], and are born again of the Holy Spirit[48].  Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church[49], which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations[50].

The body of believers in Christ in a local assembly is joined together for the worship of God[51], for edification through the Word of God[52], for prayer[53], fellowship[54], the proclamation of the gospel[55], and the observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper[56].  The gifts of the Holy Spirit are manifested within the assembly for the edification of the saints for the work of the ministry[57].

Is the image of the invisible God[5], which is to say that He is Himself, very God[6]. He took upon Himself a human nature[7], being conceived by the Holy Spirit[8] and born of a virgin[9]. He died upon the cross[10]as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world.[11] He arose from the dead bodily[12] and ascended into heaven[13] where He is now our interceding High Priest[14]. He will come again, personally and visibly[15] to judge the living and the dead[16].

Including both Old and New Testament, inerrant as originally given[23], were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men[24].  They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice[25].

Has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men[33], and those who repent and believe in Him are born again[34] of the Holy Spirit[35], receive the gift of eternal life[36] and become the children of God[37].

It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit[41] and be sanctified completely[42], being separated from sin and the world[43] and fully dedicated to the will of God[44], thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.  This is both a crisis (turning point) and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer evidenced by love[45].

We believe in the Resurrection

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; for the just a resurrection unto life; for the unjust, a resurrection unto judgment[58].

LEADERSHIP TEAM

There are many people beyond our team who volunteer and serve to help make Reach Out Church a place where people can truly experience Christ’s transforming love.

Dr. Carl & Sandra Forster

(Lead Pastor & Ladies Ministry)

Dr. Carl Forster has served Reach Out Church since 1995, first as Associate Pastor, then Lead Pastor in 2017. Pastor Carl’s heart is to help the lost find personal faith in Jesus and to help those in Christ find their full potential by growing in their relationship in Christ through the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. He has a Masters of Theology and a Doctorate of Ministry from the School of Bible Theology Seminary and is an ordained minister through Elim Fellowship. Carl also serves as the Mid-Hudson Valley Elim Fellowship Area Representative.

Pastor Sandra is the leader of the Ladies Ministry Team and has a desire for each woman to experience the fullness of the love of God. Pastor Carl, his wife Sandra of over 30 years, and their five adult children and eight grandchildren have been an integral blessing towards the life and ministry of the church throughout the years.

Jon Forster (Assistant Pastor)

Pastor Jon has a passion to see individuals living the abundant and full life that God has destined for them. He is committed to the process of helping individuals apply the principles and practices of God’s word to their everyday life. He lives by the motto; “Living life God’s way is always far better than living it your way” and loves hearing testimonies and stories of others’ lives.

Jon has been involved with Reach Out Church since his family moved to Hyde Park in the early 90s. He officially joined the church’s ministry team in 2008. He is a huge baseball fan who loves traveling and discovering new places. He has a lifelong goal of visiting every Major League Baseball Stadium. Go Blue Jays!

Jon’s greatest joy is serving alongside his wife Bethany and their two amazing daughter’s: Chloe and Amelia. Jon is an ordained minister through Elim Fellowship.

Erin Bovee (Children’s Pastor)

Pastor Erin joined the Reach Out team in 2019 as the Children’s Pastor. During her youth, she attended Reach Out and felt God’s call to go into ministry. After graduating Eastern University in 2014 with a degree in Youth Ministry, she became a Children’s Pastor at Bedford Community Church, were she served for five years. Erin and her husband, Russell, enjoy hiking and being in the outdoors together.

Lillian Berry (Media Coordinator)

Lilly joined the Reach Out Team in fall of 2024 and has been part of Reach Out Church since 2017 when her family started to attend. Since she was little, Lilly has loved serving others and helping wherever it is needed. She has served in multiple areas in the church including worship, media, and our youth missions team called Team Transformed. Lilly has a desire to connect people to God and show His love and power through photography, media, music, and graphic design. Lilly is currently working towards her high school diploma, but in her free time, she enjoys photography, rollerblading, hiking, building Legos, and spending time with friends and family.

Lorez Green (Worship Pastor/Administrative Assistant)

Pastor Lorez has been a part of the Reach Out Church family since 1996 serving in many ministries including Camp Expedition, ROC Ladies Ministry, hospitality, and the ROC worship team. She is thrilled to be part of the Reach Out staff and considers it an answer to prayer.

Lorez loves worshiping the Lord through music, and has led worship at ROC for over 20 years. Being passionate about corporate worship, she desires to equip the church to “admonish one another through singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” (Col 3:16).

Lorez is married to Yusef Green, an Elder at ROC. They raised four children together. With degrees in Biblical Studies and Ministry, they are dedicated to serving and contributing to the growth of God’s Kingdom.

Wayne & Kim Kreusher (Care Pastors)

Pastor Wayne’s heart is to see everyone he comes in contact with, to know the bending down, stooping with a helping hand unmerited favor grace of our heavenly Father! Wayne loves to fellowship and draw closer, as we all look to build relationships. Wayne and his wife Kim have been a part of Reach Out Church coming up on 5 years.

Pastor Kim loves to encourage people to use their gifts and God giving talents, Reach Out Church has been a church where God has used her and also in the women’s ministry. She love walks with Wayne and spending as much time as she can with her family.

Both Wayne and Kim started in 2023 a 50+ group “Voices Of Wisdom” (VOW)

Rev. Vic Torres (Teaching Pastor)

Dr. Vic Torres (Pastor Vic) has served Reach Out Church since 1994, as Senior Pastor from 1994-2016, and now serving as our head Teaching Pastor. Prior to his work in full-time ministry, he was a teacher of chemistry at the high school and university levels. Pastor Vic also takes pride in the fact that he has served our country in the United States Marine Corp. Semper Fi!

Pastor Vic is married to Dee, who is also actively involved in the ministry of Reach Out Church. Pastor Vic is an ordained minister through Elim Fellowship.
