Experiencing God; Through Obedience

This past Sunday, Pastor Carl shared with us a message called “Experiencing God; Through Obedience”  Being obedient isn't always easy. Many times we get frustrated by family or people around us who aren't obedient. Sometimes we focus on others being disobedient and we don't recognize when we are being disobedient.  Jesus is the perfect example of obedience. From the beginning, He followed God's voice becoming a perfect human. We aren't called to be perfect but we are called to follow God's word and His voice in order to accomplish our calling.  "The desert shouldn't be a place you look down on, it should be a place you look forward to." - Pastor Carl Pastor Carl talked about Philip who didn't know where he was heading to. However, he knew the voice of God because he had experienced God. The only way we can experience Him is by knowing His voice. In order to know his voice, you need to know His Word.  Obedience brings us to a place of experiencing intimacy with God  Just like Philip rose and went to Gaza (the desert), we also need to get up and go exactly where God wants us to go and do His work.
