Are you going to heaven?
Two revealing questions!
NEXT
Question 1: Are you absolutely sure that you will go to heaven when you die?
NEXT
The wonderful news is that the Bible says that you can know
for sure that you are going to heaven,
"These things I have written to you who believe
in the name of the Son of God,
that you may know that you have eternal life…"
1 John 5:13 NKJV

Question 2: Suppose you were to die tonight and stand before God and He were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?" What would you say?
NEXT
Although each of the above choices are good and noble,
the Bible says that none of them will guarantee you heaven.
The good news is that heaven is a free gift!
"For by grace (unmerited or undeserved gift)
you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

The dilemma

To understand the dilemma that you and all of mankind face in approaching God lets compare the nature of God to the nature of man.
God is loving, patient, good, kind, and faithful. God is also all-powerful, all-knowing, perfect, merciful, compassionate and just. To condense all of these attributes into one word we would say that God is Holy.
While you may display some of these characteristics at times, I think we could agree that you and I fall far short of the holiness of God. As a matter of fact the Bible says,
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
So you see here is the problem in a nutshell, God is holy and we are not, because of our sin. Since God is just He can not be in the presence of sinners. The penalty of sin is death. Death in this sense means total separation from the presence of God.

What are you to do?

If you will recall your answers to question #2, Suppose you were to die tonight and stand before God and He were to ask you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?" What would you say? All of your choices to the 2nd question had to do with what You had to do. Notice that all the answers started with "I".
You can not save yourself! No, it is not through good works, religion, philosophy or even morality. There is only one way. Listen to what the Bible says,
"For God so loved the world that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved."
The solution is not in what you can do but, in what God has already done for you!
NEXT
The solution!

God's plan placed the death penalty for sin upon the only person who could take man's place, God himself, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ's death, burial and resurrection enables us to be forgiven for our sins and gives us the power to no longer be controlled by sin.
The Bible says,
"And this is eternal life, that they may know You,
the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me."

The power of faith!

The scriptures say, "... without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Faith has to do with who you are trusting in. If you are trusting in yourself, you have faith in yourself. If you are trusting in God then you have faith in God. Saving faith is simply believing that what God says in the Bible is true and living accordingly.
"Because of his kindness, you have been saved through trusting Christ. And even trusting is not of yourselves; it too is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it."
Some have said, This is too simple! It isn't that it is too simple. It is simply that God loves you so much! Can we ever be good enough by our own efforts? No! Therefore because of His great love for you He provided the way through His son Jesus.
Are you ready to accept what Jesus is offering you today?

How to be saved or born-again!
God will give the gift of eternal-life (and heaven) only to those who:
1. Recognize and are sorry for their sins.
2. Are willing to turn away (repent) of their sinful ways.
3. Put their complete trust in what Jesus Christ accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection.
Are you ready to receive, by faith, what Jesus has done for you? If so, say the following prayer out loud.
Heavenly Father, You said in your Word, that if I confess with my mouth the Jesus as Lord and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:9, 13)
I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He was raised from the dead for my justification. I believe that my sins are forgiven. I believe that Jesus has come into my life. I now call upon His name and receive the gift of eternal life!

Your new life!
Congratulations on making the most important decision of your life. The Bible teaches that at the moment you made that genuine decision to receive Jesus Christ into your life a change took place.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
The decision you have made is based upon a choice to believe God. It is not based upon an emotion or feeling, although that may be present. You have been born-again. Your past has been washed away. God's spirit now lives in you and as you learn more about God and His wonderful plan for your life you will see dramatic changes in your life.
As you pursue Jesus and come to know Him better the old patterns of your life will begin to fall away. You will experience love, peace and joy!
At this early stage of your new life it is important to begin to do the following:
1. Spend time each day praying/worshipping God. Speak to Him as you would speak to a friend. There is no need for recited prayer.
2. Read the Bible daily. It may seem logical to start reading at the beginning, but I suggest you start towards the end of the Bible in a book called John (between the books Luke and Acts.) Then continue reading to the end of the Bible.
3. Find a church that is a Bible believing church, that is, believes that the entire Bible is true. It is equally important that the church teaches and encourages a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
4. Develop friendships with other Christians that desire to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus.
5. Finally, tell someone about your new relationship with Jesus Christ. We would love to hear about your decision and we will pray for you if you will contact us.
